  1. Your folder
  2. SHIKARDOS library
  3. Song in the Player
Steps diagram
  1. Open “Music”. To add music, use “+” or the library settings.
  2. Choose “Add folder” and select your music folder. For individual songs, use “Add files”.
  3. Allow access if Android requests it and wait for the folder scan.
  4. Find an album or song and tap it to play. The Player section shows what is playing now.
The result

Songs appear in the library. You do not need to copy them into the app.

Refresh the list and remove an unwanted folder

  1. After adding new files, open Library settings and tap “Refresh library”.
  2. To change the selected folders, open “Music sources” and review the list.
  3. To start a new list from scratch, use “Clear library” and read the confirmation.
  4. After clearing, add the folders you need again.
The result

“Clear library” removes folders and files from the player's list. The actual files stay on the device.

Queue, repeat and shuffle

  1. Start playing an album or song list.
  2. Open the queue from the player controls. You can also swipe to open it when the corresponding gesture is enabled.
  3. Select a song in the queue. Use repeat and shuffle to choose how playback continues.
  4. Turn shuffle off if you want to hear an album in order.
The result

You control subsequent playback without changing the files themselves.

One large file, CUE and unusual formats

  1. For an album with CUE, keep the CUE and audio file together, then add that folder.
  2. Make sure the audio filename in the CUE matches the actual filename, including its extension.
  3. For DSD and other unusual formats, check the “All files” permission.
  4. Open the recording and check its format and “Signal path”.
The result

The player reads the available track index and shows the playback path.

Titles and artwork

  1. Open the album in the library and check its title, artist and artwork.
  2. If artwork is stored beside the songs, Library settings includes “Prefer artwork from folder”.
  3. Refresh the library after changing sources.
  4. If Russian characters appear incorrectly, check the build number: beta 1.2.4 improved reading of old cp1251 tags and WAV metadata.
The result

Titles from tags and artwork beside a song help you navigate your collection.

Open your music from the cloud

  1. In your own cloud storage, enable link access to the required folder and copy its URL.
  2. In Music → Cloud, tap “Add link”.
  3. Paste the link and give the shelf a clear name.
  4. Open the shelf, wait for the list and select a song.
  5. To rename the shelf or remove its link, open the shelf menu: “Rename” or “Remove from shelf”.
The result

The folder becomes a separate shelf. Removing the shelf does not delete music from your cloud storage.

Artists: alphabetical order and “Russian first”

  1. Open Library → “Artists”.
  2. Choose ascending or descending sort order.
  3. If desired, select “Russian first”.
The result

The Russian letter “Ё” appears beside “Е”; uppercase and lowercase letters do not split the alphabet.

“Music only”: controls stay close

  1. In “Build your SHIKARDOS”, choose “Music only”.
  2. Volume, artwork gestures, headset-button controls and “Android buttons” remain in Settings.
  3. To restore Radio, select it in your build; its related settings will return too.
The result

Music stays on screen, with familiar controls still available.
